Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Episode 006: Unique Strategy (1)

As Drake Easton moved, the neatly stacked blankets in mid-air immediately spread apart. In a flash, all the hidden wrinkles and traces came into view.

The atmosphere in the dormitory seemed to stiffen. The expressions on the faces of the remaining Janice Wood, the deputy squad leader, and Jocelyn Carrington were particularly rich. The perfect blend of surprise and shock, the interplay of sentiment and admiration, and the variety of emotions displayed on the face of Jocelyn Carrington who had just been punished with a hundred laps were indeed a spectacular mix.

As the mastermind behind this deceptive arrangement of the blankets, Flossie Wright shrugged slightly when she saw her secret unveiled. As Drake Easton's sharp eyes swept over her, she calmly met his gaze. Her eyes clashed with his dark and ominous ones, and in the end, a hint of innocence appeared on her face.

For her first time folding the military blanket, it was already quite remarkable that she had managed this much. These people couldn't expect her to be perfect.

"You sure know how to play tricks!" Drake Easton's face was as black as the bottom of a pot, his five fingers tightly clenching the corner of the blanket, the strength causing the fabric to twist out of shape.

His heavy words weighed down the atmosphere of the room. Even Jocelyn Carrington, who had been played, could only purse her lips in delight, daring not to speak in the presence of Drake Easton.

In the face of Drake Easton's impending rage, Flossie Wright appeared much calmer. She paused slightly, then swiftly responded, "I'm fine."

"..."

For a moment, the entire room fell into a strange silence, even the sound of breathing becoming faint.

At Flossie Wright's fearless response, the deputy squad leader was completely dumbfounded. He had a faint feeling that Flossie Wright's audacity seemed to be growing, but what he felt even more was concern for the fury she was about to face. For Janice Wood, whose heart had been in her throat due to Flossie Wright's shocking revelations, the anxiety seemed to leap out of her chest.

As for Jocelyn Carrington, who had initially hoped for Flossie Wright to suffer more, she couldn't help but twitch the corners of her mouth. While feeling pity for Flossie Wright's lack of intelligence, she also marveled at her death-defying attitude.

"Huh, you're fine... You're not satisfied after doing such a 'glorious' thing?" Drake Easton laughed derisively in his anger, but the chill that radiated from him intensified, the room's volatile atmosphere reaching a peak.

"Report!"

In the moment that the atmosphere was about to explode, Flossie Wright suddenly stood straight and shouted in a high pitch.

Drake Easton's face was green with rage as he blurted, "Speak."

"The only requirement I knew was to fold the blanket into a block, which I believe Abram Phillips can attest to, I did!" Flossie Wright stood firm, speaking righteously, "No one told me in advance that this block of tofu could not just be a mold, and couldn't be made out of low-quality tofu!"

Such a serious bullshit, heard by the three people, became a "rebellion". She audaciously cleared herself of all blame and even dragged Abram Phillips, who had been thoroughly swindled, into the spotlight. If Drake Easton pursued the matter, it would be a direct slap in the face of Abram Phillips.

Although the Forces have fewer formalities, there should be a proper measure in doing things. If some matters can be turned from a 'big deal into a small one, or completely eliminated', there is no need to blow them out of proportion.

In an instant, Drake Easton's anger reached a peak, but was forcefully suppressed. At this moment, his face was extremely dark, his eyes reflecting Flossie Wright's figure, as if filled with enough rage to burn her up.

"I'm the squad leader, and I didn't clarify it beforehand. I voluntarily run ten laps as punishment!" Drake Easton said word by word, each word as if squeezed out from between his teeth. Then to everyone's surprise, he changed his tune, "Your housekeeping is not up to standard, same punishment, run ten laps!"
