Facing the piercing gaze of intense scrutiny, Flossie Wright met it levelly for a second and then casually looked away.
For her, as long as there is no hostility, it's acceptable.
Without hesitation, Flossie Wright quickly walked towards Austin Shepherd. A few passing new soldiers greeted her, and she responded to all of them without missing one.
"Flossie, let me introduce someone to you." Upon seeing her approach, Austin Shepherd cheerfully greeted her, pointing to an unfamiliar face and said, "This is Derek Moore, perhaps the most favored soldier by our former captain, and he was once the best soldier we've produced here."
Tilting her head slightly, Flossie Wright met his gaze once again.
Derek Moore was seated not far away with two seats separating them, and his gaze carried an instinctive authority, causing people to be alert, even unnerved.
Being stared at like this was never a comfortable thing.
