As if he put all the things that had happened at the restaurant behind him, Rowdy Brightwill's mouth twitched slightly. He immediately took a step forward and gently said to Flossie Wright.
He was able to ask Flossie out today by taking the risky step of "breaking off the engagement." From noon until now, except for the time spent at the cinema, there was almost always some mess that interfered. More importantly, Flossie spent the entire movie asleep, completely devoid of any sense of a date. He realized the promise to treat her to a meal had been fulfilled nevertheless.
"No need," Flossie shrugged, striking right at Rowdy Brightwill's weakness, "They don't want to see you."
