Chapter Six
Ryan Gregory cleared his throat, truly at a loss for words.
The moment Lydia Mitchell saw his hesitation, she instantly knew what he was thinking, "Are you trying to fool me? Trying to stop me from going?"
Ryan Gregory laughed helplessly, "How did you know."
"I am your mother!! How could I not know what you're thinking?"
Lydia Mitchell said proudly, "So, don't you try playing any tricks on me."
"I wouldn't dare play tricks on you. How about this, Mom, you go back first. Once I've dealt with the company's affairs this afternoon, I'll tell you exactly when we can go, alright?"
"You're not lying to me?"
Lydia Mitchell expressed her skepticism...
She couldn't shake the feeling that her son might sneak off behind her back.
Ryan Gregory lifted the corners of his mouth, "I'm not lying to you."
