"How is my daughter doing?"
"She's out of danger now, but her recovery will take time. Thankfully, the object only hit her on the back; with good care from her family, she should recover well."
Ryan Gregory furrowed his brows as he listened to the doctor, finally letting out a sigh of relief in his heart.
Even though he didn't like her,
he didn't want her to get hurt because of him…
He didn't want to owe her anything.
The nurse approached, "Mr. Gregory, could you please come with me to the billing desk to complete the hospital admission paperwork for your wife?"
"Mm."
He followed the nurse away, and by the time he had finished with the paperwork, she had been transferred to the ward.
When Ryan Gregory arrived at the ward, Regina's mother was already gone; only she was lying there, quietly by herself.
Remembering the moment she had rushed over to push him out of the way…
Ryan Gregory smiled bitterly.
