Chapter Two
Pushed to her limit, she stomped hard on his foot; the pain made Ryan Gregory inhale sharply. As he slightly loosened his grip, she successfully freed herself from his shackles and said angrily, "Ryan Gregory, I'm a person, not your pet—I have my own personal freedom."
Did him splitting up with Arthur Baker mean even a visit wasn't allowed?
Did he have to shout at her so angrily, drag her away to remind her of her own status?
Sofia Hamilton's face went from red to white with rage, her wrist reddened by his grip, feeling as if her bones might be crushed. She was just there to see Arthur Baker, she hadn't done anything to wrong him, so did he really need to question her so accusatorily?
Her heart filled with both anger and grievance; Sofia turned and stormed off in the direction of Arthur Baker's ward.
Ryan Gregory wanted to follow her, but he stopped himself, only frowning as he watched her walk further and further away until she entered Arthur Baker's ward.
