Chapter Three
"I'm sorry." She said reproachfully, her heart aching like it was being pricked by needles.
"Fool, why apologize? Liking you is my affair alone, and you, you have the right to reject me." He said bitterly, even though, he had once been kind to her and pursued her to secure his position.
But in their later encounters, he had lost himself and forgotten his purpose.
He just wanted to be with her properly...
But no matter how hard he tried, she still chose Ryan Gregory.
Arthur Baker looked at her with a bitter question, "Is he good to you?"
Sofia Hamilton lowered her head, "Quite good."
"That's good."
Arthur Baker chuckled miserably and then asked, "Then... is he planning to divorce Regina Brown?"
That question struck Sofia Hamilton in her most painful spot.
Without mentioning it, it was okay; but once it came up, she felt ridiculous.
Divorce?
Impossible...
She vividly remembered him saying that he could give her everything except the status of Mrs. Gregory.
