"Mommy would probably be really happy if she had some strawberries right now."
Lena nodded, "But there shouldn't be any strawberries at this time."
"Does your mommy like strawberries?"
She didn't seem to like them before...
As Ryan asked, Lena and Wilson nodded, "Mommy likes to eat strawberries when she's unhappy."
This was clearly a habit developed later on...
Before, I'd never seen her eat strawberries when she was unhappy.
Still, Ryan smiled and pinched the little one's cheek before standing up and grabbing the car keys to leave.
Although he wasn't sure if it would help,
it was worth a try.
Ryan drove out and searched the nearby supermarket for a long time but did not find any strawberries.
At this time of year, fresh strawberries just weren't available.
