Chapter Ten
Sofia Hamilton hurriedly rushed to the ward, pushed open the door, and saw Aurelia Wood sitting there alone.
And Arthur Baker lay on the hospital bed, his pale complexion taking one's breath away.
He looked much more emaciated than before.
Thin, haggard, sickly, the once elegant Arthur was virtually unrecognizable.
Sofia's heart felt incredibly heavy.
Aurelia Wood turned her head to look at her, "You finally came."
"How could he..."
"After he broke up with you, he just drank all the day. How could he not fall ill? When he got sick, he didn't seek treatment, just lay at home by himself. If I hadn't happened to look for him, he might have died in his sleep."
"The doctor said he would have fried his brain if we had been any later. He's had a relentless fever, and I don't know what to do anymore, so I had to call you over," Aurelia said with a sour tone, her eyes reddening.
