Sofia Hamilton couldn't understand his arbitrary attitude—on what grounds did he forbid her?
Could it be that her personal freedom was now restricted?
She frowned, "Ryan Gregory, my agreement to stay by your side doesn't mean I need your approval for where I go. I'm not some pet you keep around here!"
Perhaps it was an oversensitivity to her current status that always made Sofia feel uncomfortable in an instant.
She refused to be like a canary, kept—or rather, confined—here by him.
Even if she quit her current job, she would find another, because she didn't want to spend her days in this kind of place.
If one day she became accustomed to such a life, and then he suddenly grew tired of her, she would completely lose herself.
Sofia did not want to see herself end up that way...
She jerked her hand away forcefully, "If you want to keep me here, just tie me up with a rope. It would save us both the trouble."
