Chapter One
She wanted to step forward and stop him, but it was ultimately a step too late. Arthur Baker seemed to have already sensed something and stepped forward to snatch the curtains open.
Her heart felt as if someone had suddenly grabbed it tightly, nervous to the point that even her breathing stopped momentarily.
She turned her face away at that moment, feeling a terrible emptiness within.
She didn't even dare to look at Arthur Baker's expression...
However, Arthur Baker drew the patio door open and stepped out without showing any reaction.
Sofia Hamilton furrowed her brows, sensing that something was amiss.
She looked out, only to be surprised to find that Ryan Gregory was not on the balcony.
Where had he gone?
He couldn't have fallen down, could he?
Anxious, she ran up to look around, but saw no sign of Ryan Gregory.
Arthur Baker noticed she was searching for something and asked with curiosity, "What are you looking for?"
