Chapter Six
At the airport, in the waiting area.
Sofia Hamilton frantically searched through her bag, but couldn't find it anywhere.
Just thinking that she might have lost it, or forgot to take it, made her heart feel suddenly empty.
"What's wrong?"
Arthur Baker noticed her complexion was off, as if she was looking for something.
Sofia turned to him, "I think I forgot to take something."
"What thing?"
"It's..."
It was the bracelet her grandmother had given her, which she had kept with her over the years.
When she had split up with Ryan Gregory, she had thought about returning the bracelet to him as well, but she couldn't bear to part with it and kept that one thing.
It was not just a bracelet.
It was also a keepsake, a heavy sentiment.
She could still clearly remember her grandmother handing over the bracelet to her, calling her "daughter-in-law" with kind and benevolent eyes.
Her grandmother and mother had always been so good to her...
