He pulled her into his arms, his voice filled with joy, "As long as I have you by my side, I don't mind where I go."
"Aren't you afraid I might sell you off?" Sofia Hamilton said with a laugh, and Arthur Baker's smile deepened, "I'd willingly be sold by you."
As the saying goes, matters of the heart are never fair.
He would not expect her to be particularly good to him, nor would he expect anything in return from her.
Towards her, he was willing to unrequitedly care for her, take care of her. As long as she was willing to give him a chance—ten years, twenty years, or even longer—he had a lifetime to gradually peel away Ryan Gregory's presence from her heart...
