Just as her hand touched his face, she felt a slight movement between his brows.
Sofia Hamilton felt like a thief caught in the act, her heart racing as she tried to retract her hand, but it was already too late. Ryan Gregory suddenly grasped her wrist—his grip so tight, his palm so hot.
The warmth of his palm seemed to iron her wrist, as if it could burn through her skin and ignite the blood in her entire body.
Being caught red-handed, of course, comes with endless embarrassment.
Especially now, as he slightly opened his eyes, those deep and intense pupils staring at her as if silently interrogating, "What are you doing...?"
"I... I... just saw something on your face and wanted to wipe it off for you, don't get the wrong idea," she said hurriedly, as if inadvertently confessing before anyone had even asked, eager to clear herself.
Ryan Gregory slightly curled his lips, "It's lucky you're not doing anything illegal."
