Chapter Three
No sooner had Ryan Gregory left than Aurelia Wood rushed in, breathlessly pushing open the door to the ward.
Sofia Hamilton was startled and quickly pushed Arthur Baker away, glancing awkwardly at Aurelia.
Aurelia hadn't expected to find the two of them in an embrace.
Her heart soured for a moment, yet she joked with a smile, "Should I go out and let you continue?"
Helplessly, Arthur Baker looked at her, "Even if you go out, you've already ruined the mood."
"Hey, how was I supposed to know you were getting cozy? I'm not a 'Fairy' with foresight."
Despite her joking tone and the bright, sunny smile on her face, no one could detect the bitterness and sorrow hidden within.
All these years, if she had learned anything, it was how to conceal her feelings. Aurelia thought bitterly, had she become skilled at it? If there were a competition for hiding one's feelings, she might just accidentally take the first prize.
