Chapter Two
Having received the materials that needed translation from Arthur Baker, Sofia Hamilton got to work with dedication, spending an entire afternoon to complete the task thoroughly.
Though initially motivated by a willingness to help, she was not expecting that Arthur Baker would give her a payment of ten thousand.
Seeing so much money, Sofia immediately tried to give it back, "I can't take this much."
Arthur Baker stuffed the money back into her hand, "Keep it, it's nothing; it's what you deserve."
"But it's too much."
At most, at the very most three thousand, what he gave was simply too much...
"Someone complains about too much money?" Arthur Baker lifted the corner of his mouth, teasing her, "Are you interested in working for my company?"
"Can I?"
Sofia was thrilled; his inquiry was undoubtedly like a lifeline, offering her hope.
