Chapter Six
Sofia Hamilton was choked by a bite of food, immediately coughing until her face turned red and her ears crimson.
Aaron Brown reached out to pat her back, "Drink some water."
Sofia hastily grabbed the cup and took several big gulps before she could catch her breath. Yet the surprise in her heart could not be suppressed.
She looked at Aaron Brown, what was he trying to do?
A bright smile covered Mrs. Hamilton's face, "And then?"
Aaron Brown let out a wry smile and glanced at Sofia, "Then, she rejected me."
The answer wasn't what Mrs. Hamilton had hoped for, and she looked at Sofia with a touch of disappointment, "Aaron is such a good man, how could you reject him, Sofia? Don't forget who took care of us mother and daughter all this time. We can't be ungrateful."
Mrs. Hamilton's words were severe, implying that not marrying Aaron Brown would make her an ingrate.
But can marriage be a form of repayment?
