Sofia Hamilton smiled and thanked him, but she had never taken Arthur Baker's words to heart, and she never thought that one day, she would actually need his help...
After spending some time at the Baker family's old house with her grandfather, Sofia's mood indeed improved a lot, especially because the old man seemed to know she was feeling down and deliberately told quite a few jokes, making her laugh...
After dinner, Arthur drove her away.
On the way, neither of them spoke.
Sofia was always staring out the window, lost in thought, when suddenly, with a loud bang, the car seemed to bump against the one next to it, causing a huge impact that startled her awake. She looked at Arthur beside her, "What happened?"
Arthur frowned and glanced back at the car behind them.
"The car behind us tried to cut in and hit us a little."
