Her hand throbbed where he had gripped it, the pain so intense she felt tears welling up.
Sofia Hamilton thought about explaining, but she didn't know where to start.
Ryan Gregory's self-deprecating smile curled his lips as he mocked, "It seems I've been too good to you!"
His indulgence had allowed her to deceive him time and again…
He withdrew his gaze, no longer looking at her, and walked away with a cold face.
Past her…
Sofia Hamilton, on impulse, grabbed onto his sleeve, her voice choked up, "Ryan."
Clutching the corner of his sleeve, she resembled a pitiful, pleading kitten, hoping he would stay…
But he firmly removed her hand and strode away.
He had left.
The room fell silent…
But Sofia Hamilton's heart couldn't quiet down.
What use was there in explaining to someone about to leave?
Moreover, she had already promised Mrs. Mo to leave this place; she simply couldn't spill everything.
