Aaron Brown locked eyes with her, the expectant shimmer in her eyes so glaringly bright.
It pained his heart…
He wanted to deny it, wanted to argue.
But he couldn't utter a single word.
His throat tightened, as if plugged with a large clump of cotton, making him unable to speak.
Aaron Brown's brows furrowed deeply, and after a long silence, he finally asked, "What kind of person do you think the 'Big Brother Aaron' you know is?"
"Upright, warm, and very kind-hearted. You've helped me a lot, appearing whenever I need help, and you even took care of my mother…" Sofia Hamilton choked up as she spoke. Could it be that she had misunderstood him?
Aaron Brown's lips curled into a smile, as if he had heard a joke.
His smile contained a hint of ridicule, "Upright?"
The fool. He had been using her from the start, yet she still saw him as a good man!
