Chapter Six
Hospital.
Sofia Hamilton awoke in a daze, the pungent smell of disinfectant assaulting her nostrils immediately.
She frowned; the ceiling was spinning.
It seemed as if the whole room was rotating, giving her a momentary feeling of weightlessness.
When she closed her eyes again, the image of an explosion suddenly burst into her mind.
Ryan Gregory! Where was he?
She immediately opened her eyes and looked around.
There was no sign of him in the room...
That instant, unease took over her heart.
She hurriedly threw off the covers and got out of the ward.
Just then, a nurse passed by, and Sofia caught hold of the nurse's arm, "Where's Ryan Gregory?"
"What did you say?"
"Ryan Gregory, the man... the man who was brought in with me."
She anxiously described him, and it just so happened that the nurse remembered, "Oh, he's over there."
