She wanted to gamble, to gamble on her feelings for Ryan Gregory.
His kindness to her these recent days was etched in her memory.
"Okay, I agree with you."
Sofia Hamilton agreed readily, but Aaron Brown smiled with a hidden meaning and then stepped on the gas, speeding up the car.

Sofia took care of someone at the hospital until late before returning to the Gregory Family's house.
The sound of water in the bathroom proved he had already come back.
Sofia stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the distant twinkling stars.
Suddenly, someone hugged her from behind.
Sofia turned around to look at him, one hand cradling her cheek, his fingers caressing that delicate skin, about to bend down his head but then frowning, he asked, "What's that smell?"
He leaned in to sniff her.
"The smell of the hospital, did you go to the hospital?"
He pulled her to face him.
Sofia felt guilty and at a loss for words, "I…"
"I... went to see… a friend."
