Chapter Two
"Come on, be careful, there's a step here; walk slower."
Lydia Mitchell was supporting her as though she was some kind of national treasure to be protected.
Sofia Hamilton was flattered but puzzled.
What's going on?
She chuckled, "Mom, I can walk by myself; you don't have to hold on to me."
"Well, you might become our family's top priority for protection soon!"
"Huh?"
Why's that?
Sofia looked at Ryan Gregory, only to find him smiling silently, clearly enjoying the situation.
Lydia was particularly excited, sitting beside Sofia, she asked, "How's your appetite been recently?"
"It's been quite good."
"Craving sour or spicy?"
"Huh?"
Sofia was baffled by the question.
Certainly, her mother-in-law couldn't think she was pregnant, could she?
Indeed, Lydia then asked, "You didn't get your period this month, did you?"
Being asked such a private question so suddenly made Sofia embarrassed, her face displaying an awkward, embarrassed smile.
