Chapter One
He had resolved to no longer care about her well-being, but in this moment, he lost control again and blurted out his question.
Aaron Brown cast a sidelong glance at him, "She's missing. She called me several times, but unfortunately, I didn't pick up. When I called back, her phone was already switched off."
"She wouldn't turn off her phone for no reason for so long, so..." Aaron trailed off suddenly.
He really hoped that things were not as he suspected.
Claura Wood couldn't help but interject, "Maybe her phone just ran out of battery, and she went out shopping by herself?"
"It's just a few hours without answering calls, what's the need to be so anxious? Even if it's a disappearance, the police need 24 hours before they can file a report. Perhaps she will come back on her own in a little while."
Aaron Brown's face darkened, "I hope that's the case."
With that, he turned and left.
