Chapter Five
Claura Wood clearly remembered that when she saw Regina Brown stepping out of Arthur Baker's car, she looked like a wounded cheetah.
She had never seen him like this before...
His silhouette was so hurtful to look at.
In that moment, she couldn't help but realize, maybe Ryan wasn't actually planning to spend his birthday with her, was he?
Even if he intended to keep her company, his attention was divided because of Regina.
Lately, he went to the wine cellar alone, and no one knew exactly how much he had drunk.
It wasn't until she went to find him this morning that she discovered him leaning pale and unconscious.
Claura hardened her heart, "Brother Ryan, Regina said she's too busy to come over."
"Too busy?"
His face indeed darkened, his jaw tensed, his eyes dimmed with disappointment, even filled with despair.
"Mm-hmm, she has plans with friends today, so... she can't come."
Ryan Gregory's expression was stern as he said coldly, "Tell her not to come then."
