Chapter One
He stood right behind her, his deep, night-sky-like eyes fixed unwaveringly on her.
The corners of his lips were curved as if he had long seen through her thoughts.
Sofia Hamilton's face flushed with discomfort, and she scratched her head, "I wasn't... wasn't chasing anything."
She feigned composure, not wanting him to notice her little secret thoughts.
Ryan Gregory took a step forward, "Are you afraid I'll leave?"
"No, it's not that. I'm not chasing you, I just... I just saw someone familiar," she said, giving a clumsy excuse.
But the rosy blush on her face betrayed her.
Ryan Gregory's lips curled up, and he nudged her nose with his hand, "Since when did you also learn to say one thing and mean another? Huh?"
Sure enough, he had seen through her little thoughts.
Her ideas just couldn't be hidden from him.
Sofia Hamilton pursed her lips, unable to resist a laugh, "I'm just worried that if you left, I wouldn't know how to get back."
"You get scared too?"
