Chapter One
The Gregory Family.
Sofia Hamilton's body temperature was frighteningly high, and her consciousness had begun to blur.
The doctor had administered an IV and prescribed some pills before getting up to instruct Ryan Gregory, "The IV is set up, and her temperature should come down soon. But we must not be negligent; I'm afraid she might get a fever again in the middle of the night. If it's serious, it could possibly lead to pneumonia. It would be best if someone could stay with her through the night. Mrs. Gregory's health is already quite poor, so extra care is needed."
Ryan Gregory furrowed his brows, looking over at her on the bed.
On an ordinary day, she'd always be laughing and joking around him, as if she had limitless energy.
He always thought she was too noisy, too chaotic.
Now she was quiet, but he wasn't used to it.
He'd rather have her by his side, noisy and chattering away.
At least, that would prove she was healthy, happy.
