Sofia Hamilton hugged the little dog tightly in her arms, listening to his reproach, aware that he was only looking out for her well-being.
If it hadn't been for his timely rescue, she feared she wouldn't have the life to sit here and argue with him now.
He was right, she couldn't even ensure her own safety, so how could she go about saving a dog.
Sofia was silent for a long while before she finally spoke up, "Thank you."
Ryan Gregory didn't respond, as if he hadn't heard, lazily leaning against the cushion, his gaze complex as he looked ahead.
It took a while, but he eventually pulled a cigarette out of the packet and placed it between his lips.
Just as he lit it, perhaps inhaling too quickly, he choked and began to cough violently.
Sofia quickly reached out, snatched the cigarette from his mouth, and pressed it against the packet, saying angrily, "Why smoke so much? This is the real killer, it smells awful."
