"Birthday?"
Sofia Hamilton's eyes widened in surprise, staring at Lydia Mitchell in disbelief.
Lydia Mitchell gave a peculiar smile, "Yes, what's wrong? You didn't know?"
"I..."
Indeed, Sofia knew nothing about it, but admitting that would certainly be bad.
As Ryan Gregory's wife, how could she not know?
Sofia forced a smile and hastily corrected herself, "Of course, I knew. How could I not? It's just... he seemed to have said that he didn't want to celebrate it."
She felt guilty as she lied, her face involuntarily flushing with each untrue word.
Lydia Mitchell, however, did not suspect a thing and sighed with emotion, "It's true he doesn't want to celebrate because he has never really had a proper birthday. He has never experienced what it's like for other children to celebrate with their parents."
"That's why I've always felt I owed it to him, and every year I organize this kind of party for him."
Listening to her, Sofia suddenly felt a bit of pity for Ryan Gregory.
