Sofia Hamilton could tell, just by imagining it, how dark Ryan Gregory's face must have been at that moment.
While she was worried about her relationship with Ryan Gregory becoming tense, Aaron Brown was not concerned at all, pulling her toward the car, "What do you want to eat? I'll take you to dinner."
By the car, Sofia Hamilton hesitated.
"I'd better not go."
"What's wrong?"
"He... might have something he needs to talk to me about."
Perhaps, he wanted to apologize to her?
Or maybe, he'd realized he had misunderstood her.
Sofia Hamilton forced a smile, not very adept at rejecting others, "I'm sorry, we can eat next time. I should go back and check."
"He's not a child, what does he need to find you for?"
Aaron Brown frowned slightly.
Seeing her anxious to return and her expression of concern, a sudden heaviness pressed against his chest.
No woman had ever refused him before.
"Don't you really hate him? Now is your chance; you don't have to deal with him right away."
