Grandma insisted on putting it into her hand, "You must keep this. My health isn't good enough for me to attend your wedding, and I don't have the energy to prepare a gift, but a present for the bride is essential. This is my sentiment toward you, you must accept it."
Sofia Hamilton felt troubled; she wasn't really the bride...
And she definitely wasn't her granddaughter-in-law!
She looked at Ryan Gregory, who stood there expressionless, and spoke coldly, "Keep it."
Sofia had no choice but to temporarily accept it, but the elderly lady was determined to put it on her herself, and when the jade bracelet slipped onto her hand, it fitted perfectly in size.
Grandma smiled, "It looks so much better on a young person than on an old woman like me."
"From now on, keep it on your wrist, and don't take it off easily, understand?" the old lady cautioned, and Sofia could only nod with a smile.
She would indeed like not to take it off, as long as the Gregory family didn't search the whole world to get their money back!
"You both go rest now. You've just gotten married, don't stay with this old lady. I'm tired too, and I want to rest." Grandma hurried the two to leave.
Ryan Gregory clearly didn't feel reassured, "I'll sit with you a little longer."
"No need, the person you should be with today isn't me, it's your wife," the old lady said with enlightenment.
As soon as Sofia heard this, she quickly agreed, "Grandma, I don't need him to be with me, just let him stay here with you."
She would have indeed preferred him to stay in Grandma's room.
That way she would have been safe...
Ryan Gregory clearly understood what she meant but ignored it, continuing, "I'll stay and chat with you a bit more."
"What do you need to chat with me about? Go talk to your wife. Grandma's tired and wants to rest," the old lady said with a smile, patting the back of his hand. "If you want to make Grandma happy, hurry back with your wife and give me a great-grandson."
As soon as Sofia heard this, she instantly blushed deep red, anxiously saying, "Grandma, I can't do it, I just can't!!"
The old lady chuckled, "Don't worry about this; as long as my grandson can, that's all that matters."
"..." Sofia was petrified.
Oh Lord, Grandma's thoughts were so progressive.
Her face was now covered in blushes, and as Grandma urged the two of them to leave, Ryan Gregory took her hand and led her out.
As soon as they left Grandma's bedroom.
Sofia felt extremely uncomfortable all over.
She looked at him and awkwardly cleared her throat, "So, uh, I'll give the bracelet back to you."
Just the thought of Grandma's words made her feel like the air in the room was thinning.
Sofia quickly tried to take the bracelet off, but it was stuck on her wrist, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get it off; instead, her wrist turned red from the effort.
"Keep it on," he said with a frown, turning to go upstairs.
Seeing his reaction, Sofia hurried to make her escape.
She walked briskly towards the door, but after only a few steps, she heard his displeased voice, "Regina Brown! Where do you think you're going?"
Sofia's spine stiffened, and her steps halted.
Turning around, she met his suspicious and profound gaze. Sofia forced a few laughs, "Heh heh heh, I... I just wanted to go out for a bit, to check out the scenery around here."
"There's nothing worth seeing. Come up!" He stood at the top of the staircase, looking down at her commandingly, his tone imperious.
Sofia finally understood what kind of temper the young master had...
But how could she go upstairs?
Going up would really mean walking into the lion's den. Right now, all she wanted to do was to flee at the earliest opportunity.
