Chapter Ten
The Baker Family.
Arthur Baker was holding her as they entered the house, instructing the servant, "Go prepare a room for Miss Hamilton."
"All right, I'll go now."
The servant turned to leave...
"Wait!"
Arthur Baker called after her, hesitated for a few seconds, then said, "Never mind."
She was his fiancée, and she would eventually become the lady of this house.
Before even holding the wedding, their bridal chamber was already prepared.
So, there was no need for any guest room.
Arthur Baker carried her back to his own bedroom and gently placed her on the bed.
At that moment, she was as quiet as a cat, curling up against the bed upon contact.
Arthur Baker sat beside her and swept aside the hair from her cheek.
His fingertips gently glided across her cheek, ascertaining it was real.
Her cheeks, flushed with red from the alcohol, added a touch of playfulness and cuteness.
