Chapter Four
All night long, she sat by his side, propping her cheek with one hand, her body swaying as she fought off sleep.
Every now and then, a surge of panic rose within her, fearing his condition had worsened, and she would quickly reach out to check his temperature.
Only when she confirmed that he hadn't gotten worse did the fright slowly drain away from her body.
Looking after someone was truly exhausting.
Especially for someone who hadn't slept well for several days, it was utterly draining.
Finally, she could no longer keep up and collapsed beside his bed, falling into a deep sleep.
When Ryan Gregory woke up and moved his hand, he found someone beside him.
He looked over and was surprised to see her lying there, her quiet face marked with exhaustion.
So, last night wasn't a dream.
She had really been taking care of him...
He had thought it was just another dream, so vivid and real.
