Chapter Five
"I'm telling you, don't you dare lie to me, I won't fall for any of your tricks!"
"Did you hear that, Ryan Gregory?"
"Someone is coming, open your eyes and see..."
"Ryan?"
"Didn't you just ask me why staying by your side is so difficult? I'm telling you now..."
"Do you even want to listen? If you don't wake up, I'm really going to ignore you..."
"Ryan?"
By the end, her voice was so choked with sobs that she couldn't speak, and tears rolled down her face.
If he was truly asleep, he wouldn't be completely unresponsive.
He must have suffered even more severe internal injuries...
But if they were trapped on the mountain, and he couldn't be rescued in time, he would be gone forever, never to wake up again.
And she could do nothing but watch him leave her.
The feeling was like having your heart slowly hollowed out, leaving an emptiness with nothing remaining, and she tried so hard to hold onto something, yet could do nothing at all.
