Chapter Five
In an instant, mud and rocks fell, and the ground shook violently as if it were throwing a tantrum. Sofia Hamilton had just fallen to the ground when a stone plummeted down, landing precisely in front of her eyes, missing her by mere inches.
Her heart almost stopped beating in fright.
She gasped for air, and before she could react, more debris came crashing down.
Since she was in a cave, there was no avoiding the falling objects. If she didn't get out quickly, she might really be buried alive there!!
Panicked and at a loss, Sofia could only hide in a corner for the moment.
Slowly, the ground seemed to regain its calm, as if nothing had ever happened.
She hugged her knees, crouched in the corner, with her clothes and hair already stained with mud.
Her legs were too shaky to stand. She had never experienced an earthquake before. Once the ground beneath her feet began to tremble, a person would feel an unprecedented sense of fear.
