Chapter Five
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Sofia Hamilton looked at the deeply affectionate Arthur Baker in front of her, her feelings incredibly complex. She moved her lips but found herself unable to speak, or perhaps she simply did not know what to say.
She had always been aware of his painstaking sincerity toward her.
If she married him, perhaps she really would lead a life many would envy. She also believed that he would be good to her, and to the baby. With such certainty, what exactly was she hesitating about?
Could it be that she was still waiting for that man?
Not many men would put so much thought into preparing a proposal for a woman. Those around her looked on with expectant eyes, hoping she would agree...
At that moment, as she looked up, she locked eyes with a pair of deep, clear, and dark pupils.
Sofia Hamilton was startled, incredulously turning her gaze toward Ryan Gregory not far away.
There he stood, not far off, frowning deeply as he looked at her.
