Chapter Four
The only possibility was that Mom was still inside!
Sofia Hamilton's heart instantly panicked, and without much thought, she attempted to rush in, but the firefighters quickly reached out to stop her, "You can't go in, it's been sealed off."
"Let me go, let me in, my mom is still inside."
Sofia's eyes reddened, trying to pull the firefighter's hand away, but the latter wouldn't let go, "It's dangerous inside, you can't go in!"
Just as the words were spoken, there was a loud bang, another explosion occurred upstairs, frightening the people below into crouching down with screams.
With that explosion, Sofia felt as if her heart had been shattered as well...
All the strength seemed to be drained from her body, and the thought of her mom still inside left her without the strength to even stand, her legs giving way beneath her. Just as she was about to kneel, someone caught her around the waist, steadying her.
