Chapter Four
Sofia Hamilton closed her eyes, wishing that upon waking, everything would turn out to be just a dream.
But why did the past surge forth in waves whenever she closed her eyes?
It turned out she had an excellent memory, for she remembered everything about him so clearly.
He once said that no matter where he was, he would tell her, would take her with him...
But now he was by another woman's side!
Thinking of this made her eyes moisten.
Maybe because she was leaning on her mother's shoulder, she felt more wronged, and that's why the tears came so easily.
Mrs. Hamilton smiled and stroked her head, "Silly girl, what's to fear if you lost your job? Come back, rest up, and once your spirit is replenished, we'll look again. If the boss fired you, it's because he lacked vision. My daughter is so outstanding and capable, he will surely regret it!"
Upon hearing this, Sofia felt a warmth in her heart and smiled.
"Mom, am I really that good?"
