"Ryan Gregory, what's wrong with you?"
What had happened?
He didn't answer, intent on leaving in silence.
Sofia Hamilton hurried forward, blocked his way, and stood in front of him, "What's the matter with you, really?"
"What's the matter with me? Shouldn't you be well aware?"
He frowned, his gaze carrying a touch of mockery.
This only confused Sofia more, "What do you mean I should be well aware?"
Ryan Gregory averted his gaze, clearly struggling to contain something, "There's business at the company, I don't have time to discuss this with you."
He really wanted to persuade himself to believe her...
But what were the facts?
Ryan Gregory took a step to leave, but then paused and said in a low voice, "Don't let me be disappointed in you."
Having said that, he walked away, while Sofia stared at his retreating back in stunned surprise.
What did his words mean?
Could it be that he knew something?
