Everyone pushed Sofia Hamilton into the eye of the storm. They unanimously believed it was her fault, and even the department's supervisor secretly sought her out to whisper, "Just take the blame for this matter and bear it. If you were the one who caused this issue, President Gregory certainly wouldn't fire you, but we would be a different story."
Sofia Hamilton felt helpless and, as everyone expected, went to the president's office to turn herself in.
Just as she reached the door, she heard a scolding voice inside.
In all the time she had known Ryan Gregory, she knew he had a temper, but she had never seen him this furious.
She couldn't help but shudder. Did the director decide that Ryan wouldn't fire her?
Why did she feel that it was still up in the air?
But then she thought, if she got fired, so be it. She'd be free and could look for another job.
So she wouldn't have to face him every day, wouldn't have to serve him, to bring him tea and water.
