Chapter Three
Claura Wood chatted away cheerfully, deliberately treating Sofia Hamilton as if she were air while reminiscing about their childhood.
"My brother is really serious about these things. At that time, it seemed like you two were betting on something, and my brother was determined to beat you."
Ryan Gregory thought back to their childhood and found it amusing, "It seems it was because of you."
"Oh, I remember now, it seems you won, and he had to marry me off to you, right?"
Claura bent her eyes, watching for Ryan Gregory's reaction. Noticing that he didn't pick up the conversation, she quickly added, "My brother said if I were with you, you would surely bully me, so he really wanted to beat you. After you won that time, he went back and practiced for a long time."
Sofia Hamilton sat to the side, unable to restrain a cough or two, to affirm her existence.
But, unfortunately, Claura ignored her, and even Ryan Gregory seemed not to have heard.
