"So... Shumei, she..." Amanda Jenkins bit her lip, a hint of unease surfacing in her eyes, "Is she really hiding something from me?"
"That remains unknown." Jasper Bollock took a sip of red wine, "I can help you investigate."
"You don't have to trouble yourself." Amanda quickly replied with a smile, "I can investigate on my own."
"Are you sure?" Jasper raised an eyebrow, "She is your closest secretary and assistant, probably more aware of your work and life than you are. If you investigate her yourself, it's very easy for her to find out. If she does have something to hide, you would be alerting her unwittingly. And if there isn't anything, your distrust could still damage your relationship."
Amanda furrowed her brows as she chewed on her cutlery, "You always think things through."
"So let me do the investigation for you."
"Then I would be troubling you again and owing you a favor."
