"It was on my way back from school when Dad called me," Kent squinted with a smile, "He said he will come back to us."
Amanda Jenkins suddenly realized why Kent was so calm; Lucas Griffin had already talked to him.
"So Amanda doesn't need to be too sad," Kent consoled, "We are just temporarily separated from Dad."
A bitter smile appeared on Amanda's lips.
It was just something you say to comfort a child, and she was no longer a child.
But really, Lucas Griffin had gone too far. By giving Kent such great hope, even though it temporarily stopped him from crying and making a fuss, what about later?
How was she going to fulfill the hope in Kent's heart later on?
Amanda caressed Kent's face with heartache, only then noticing the moisture in the corners of his eyes, her heart ached, "Kent, have you been crying?"
Kent stuck out his tongue, "Don't you know, Amanda, that sometimes when you poop, you cry?"
