Amanda Jenkins looked up at him, "What's the matter?"
"I have found the man in the mask that Jesslyn Derei was talking about."
"Really?" Amanda asked eagerly, "Who is it?"
"He's known as Sir Hugh, a minor leader of a secret underground organization in Paris."
"Oh."
"I plan to take you and Jesslyn Derei out for a meal with him, as a way of thanking him for saving Derei last time."
Amanda was somewhat touched.
Although Lucas Griffin was a cold person, to make her happy, he was now taking Jesslyn Derei's matter seriously.
"But... he also detained Derei for several days." Amanda asked skeptically, "Was he truly intending to save Derei?"
"He has already explained that to me," Lucas said, "We met tonight, and he said it was because of his admiration for Jesslyn Derei, he wanted to spend more time with her, which is why he kept her for a few days."
Amanda frowned, "Is he sure that wasn't detention, but rather retention? That explanation seems a bit far-fetched."
