Amanda Jenkins cradled Kent in her arms, "Kent, I have something to tell you. You need to be prepared, okay?"
Kent nodded vigorously, "Yes!"
"That..." Amanda's heart was racing, and after taking a deep breath, she finally said, "Uncle Lucas is actually your dad."
"I know."
"You know?" Amanda was surprised.
Kent paused, realizing he had misspoken. His dark eyes shifted, and he chuckled, "Well, since you're going to marry him, that makes him my dad, right?"
"Silly boy." Amanda pinched Kent's cheek, "I mean, he is your biological dad."
Kent paused again, then widened his eyes and feigned surprise, "Really? But didn't you say I came from a crack in a rock?"
Amanda thought to herself how she was the silly one, because he had already known!
"That was just teasing you. Uncle Lucas is your real dad." Amanda explained, "It's a bit complicated, but because of many reasons, Kent couldn't recognize his dad before."
