"Yay, what now?" Kent scratched his little forehead, his dark eyes swirling. "Uncle, your name is so complicated, I didn't understand it at all."
On the other end of the phone, Lucas Griffin was patient as he explained, "It's the 'night' from night, the 'Luo' from the goddess Luo, and 'Qi' from a Qilin." His voice carried a hint of amusement.
This was his first interaction with a child, and their blunt innocence indeed amused him.
"Qilin?!" Kent blinked, "Wow! Is that like the mythical creature that looks like a lion?"
"Uh..." It did resemble one a bit, but that didn't seem to be the point, right?
"I've seen a Qilin in cartoons, Uncle, your name is so cool! Can I call you Uncle Lucas then?!"
"..." Lucas Griffin was speechless.
"Hello? Uncle, are you still there?"
"Well, little friend." Lucas Griffin cleared his throat, embarrassingly trying to change the subject, "Is Amanda Jenkins there?"
"Her? She's so lazy, still sleeping."
