"Amanda, what are you saying?" Lucas Griffin suddenly felt a tightness in his heart. Although he couldn't make out what she was saying, there was an inexplicable urge to hear her clearly.
In her stupor, Amanda Jenkins opened her mouth but could only let out some muffled, pained sounds.
Suddenly, she let out a "wah," crying loudly like a child.
Lucas Griffin quickly held her in his arms, softly consoling her, "Don't be afraid, I'm right here."
Amanda Jenkins cried herself awake, opened her eyes, and saw a pair of gentle eyes through her tear-blurred vision.
As her sight gradually cleared and she recognized it was Lucas Griffin, Amanda Jenkins indifferently turned her head away and raised her hand to wipe the tears from her face.
"Feeling any better?" he asked cautiously, his voice somewhat hoarse.
Amanda Jenkins didn't respond, her gaze cold as she looked out the window.
