The Jenkins Family.
The morning light began to reveal itself, while Amanda Jenkins was still deep in slumber.
Suddenly, a chill ran through her body, and Yvonne Gough's voice exploded in her ears.
"You ungrateful girl, your father made you kneel all night, and you still dare to sleep! Get up! Get up now!"
Amanda Jenkins opened her bleary eyes slightly, only to find that Yvonne Gough had already flung off her blanket, leaving her to curl up from the cold.
At that moment, Amanda was utterly exhausted, her eyelids so heavy they could hardly open, and all she wanted was to sleep soundly.
"Did you hear me when I told you to get up!" Yvonne Gough grabbed Amanda's arm and yanked it hard, "Your father wants you to go to the hospital and apologize to Emma Bollock!"
Amanda's arm ached from Yvonne's pull as she frowned and rubbed her eyes, "Mom, stop pulling, I'm getting up."
"Hurry up! Don't wait for your dad to come and get you himself!"
Only then did Yvonne Gough let go of Amanda, and when she left the bedroom, she slammed the door closed forcefully.
The resounding slam thoroughly woke Amanda up, and she got out of bed resignedly, dressed, and washed up.
Heaven knows how much she did not want to go apologize to Emma Bollock, but she couldn't disobey her father's command.
After dawdling for a bit longer, Amanda slowly made her way downstairs.
Gavin Jenkins, Yvonne Gough, and Anastasia Jenkins were all waiting for her below.
Gavin's face was filled with anger, "You still had the mind to sleep! Today at the hospital, you must give a proper apology to Emma Bollock!"
"Dad... I haven't had breakfast yet..." Amanda mumbled.
"You won't get to eat properly until this matter is resolved. Let's go!"
Gavin glared at Amanda before walking out first.
Amanda, rubbing her "growling" stomach, followed helplessly.
Going to the hospital today would likely result in some form of humiliation from Emma Bollock, and she truly wanted to defy everything just once.
But she knew she couldn't.
She had endured all these years; she might as well endure a little longer. It wouldn't be long before she could finally leave this life behind.
As the family was about to get into the car, an Aston Martin approached rapidly from a distance.
Amanda recognized it as Lucas Griffin's car and screamed desperately in her heart.
Heaven, what is he doing here now?
As if her life wasn't chaotic enough!
Lucas Griffin got out of the car. He was dressed in formal attire today, looking noble and distinguished with an extraordinary demeanor.
If it were any other woman seeing Lucas Griffin, they would be eager to take in every detail, but Amanda immediately turned around, her back facing the direction he came from.
"Young Master Griffin graces us with his presence. May I know what brings you here?" Gavin's face immediately lifted into a smile, showing utmost respect for the young master from the Griffin Family.
Lucas Griffin, accomplished and the future successor of Griffin Group, commanded respect from everyone in Brocade City.
Lucas looked towards Amanda's evasive back, "I'm here for Amanda."
Upon hearing that, Yvonne Gough hurriedly approached with a fawning smile, calling Lucas intimately, "Lucas, we were just about to take Amanda to the hospital to apologize to Miss Bollock."
"Oh?" Lucas raised his eyebrows.
As expected, it was just as he had anticipated. Good thing he came over in time.
Knowing Emma Bollock's temperament, if Amanda went today, she would certainly come back disheartened.
His woman, Lucas Griffin's woman, how could she be wronged in front of others?
Lucas Griffin looked at Jason Gough, "Uncle Jenkins, I have some private matters that I'm anxious to sort out with Amanda."
"Private matters?" Jason Gough glanced at Amanda Jenkins; he didn't know his daughter had any dealings with Lucas Griffin and asked in confusion, "Are you... quite familiar?"
"Yes." Lucas Griffin nodded lightly, his face as indifferent as ever, without a trace of emotion.
"Dad, I'm not familiar with him, and there are no private matters to deal with." Amanda Jenkins hurriedly said, "Let's go."
After speaking, Amanda Jenkins scrambled into the car.
Lucas Griffin strode forward, grabbed Amanda Jenkins's hand, and lifted the corner of his lips, "We've slept together, doesn't that count as familiar?"
Slept... slept together?!!
The Jenkins family was shocked, their eyes widened in disbelief as they looked at the two of them.
Amanda Jenkins was startled, and she fiercely glared at Lucas Griffin, her palms sweating with nervousness.
But Lucas Griffin just wore a seductive smile, "Shall we talk it over in private, or should we discuss it here in front of your family?"
Anastasia Jenkins panicked, dodging her family's astonished and questioning looks without knowing what to do.
Before the three Jenkins family members could react, Lucas Griffin had pulled Amanda Jenkins away.
Jason Gough, recovering from his shock, tugged at the corner of his lips awkwardly, "Young Master Griffin, this..."
"Uncle Jenkins, don't worry, I will make sure Amanda is returned home safely."
Without waiting for Jason Gough to ask anything more, Lucas Griffin, under the watchful eyes of everyone, drove off with Amanda Jenkins.
Leaving behind the three members of the Griffin family with nothing but shocked faces!
After starting the car, Amanda Jenkins raised her hand fuming, ready to hit Lucas Griffin.
Lucas Griffin caught her hand, "I helped you out of a difficult situation, and instead of thanking me, you want to hit me? You really are a wildcat!"
"What were you blurting out in front of my dad!" Amanda Jenkins was furious, her face flush with anger, "Are you really helping me? You're clearly slandering my honor!"
"I'm merely stating a fact." Lucas Griffin confined her anxious hands to her side, "We've indeed slept together! Being with me, Lucas Griffin, is an honor, how could it be considered slander?"
"Lucas Griffin! You shameless!" Amanda Jenkins struggled, "Who has slept with you! I don't even know you!"
Lucas Griffin's lips hovered close to Amanda Jenkins's ear, whispering softly, "If we hadn't slept together, how would I know about the birthmark on your body."
His warm breath on her ear was tingling, and Amanda Jenkins's body trembled slightly, as if her earlobes were blushing with his breath.
"Feeling embarrassed?" Lucas Griffin embraced Amanda Jenkins tightly in his hold.
At that moment, the distance between them was very close, and he felt her frantic heartbeat, the playful smile on his lips growing clearer.
"Not at all! Not at all!" Amanda Jenkins shook her head, "I don't have any birthmarks! I told you, you've got the wrong person! Why won't you believe me?"
"A quick check will tell." Lucas Griffin glanced at her body.
Today Amanda Jenkins was wearing a white tank top with a V-neck cardigan on top, and during the struggle, a hint of her beautiful décolletage was revealed.
Amanda Jenkins looked at Jonas Jox, who was driving, with a face so red it seemed to bleed, "Lucas Griffin! Don't go too far!"
Lucas Griffin also glanced at Jonas Jox, teasingly said, "He wouldn't dare look. If I really got the wrong person, I'll let you out of the car right away!"
Jonas Jox held back a smile and stared earnestly ahead, "I can't see a thing, I can't see anything at all, carry on, pretend I don't exist."
Amanda Jenkins was on the verge of tears, how could she possibly undress for his inspection!
Heaven! What would it take for him to let up?
