Adventurer Guild.
Since the practical session ended, all special class students were given three days of rest. The guild hall stood at the edge of the square, a large, imposing building that exuded an air of authority and adventure. Its wooden sign, emblazoned with a sword and shield, creaked gently in the evening breeze.
Chu Yan pushed open the heavy doors and stepped inside. The air was thick with the sounds of conversation, the clinking of armor, and the crackling of the large fireplace that dominated one wall.
He made his way to the mission board, a massive structure covered in parchment notices detailing various quests and bounties. As he searching the missions, one of it attract Chu Yan's attention.
A dangerous prisoner has escaped custody. He made off with critical military resources and poses a significant threat.
Chu Yan unrolled the scroll and scanned the details. The prisoner, Jin Rong, was a notorious criminal with a history of cunning and violence. The stolen resources included weapons and strategic documents, making his capture a top priority.
"Jin Rong," Chu Yan muttered, his eyes narrowing as he absorbed the information. "He won't be easy to catch."
'But the reward for this mission is very high. 900,000 federal coins just to kill him; 1.3 million coins for being captured alive,' thought Chu Yan.
With the mission scroll in hand, Chu Yan moved to the supply counter. The clerk, a young woman named Mei, greeted him with a smile.
"Do want to accept mission, sir?"
"Yes, I want to accept this mission." With that, Chu Yan passed the scroll to the clerk for registration.
"Wait for a minute, sir." After a while, the clerk finished and bring papers with her, "There have been reports of suspicious activity near the old buildings to the north. It's a dangerous area, but it might be a good place to start."
Chu Yan thanked her and secured the supplies in his pack. He studied the information, committing the details to memory.
After leaving the guild, Chu Yan made a quick stop at the training yard behind the pavilion hall. He needed to clear his mind and sharpen his focus. The yard was quiet, the only sound the rustling of leaves in the evening breeze.
He practiced his Gale Force Fist technique, with each movement deliberate and powerful. His fists moved through the air with the force of a storm, his body a blur of speed and precision. Then he changed it to Gale Wind Sword Technique, the blade flashing in the dim light. Each strike was executed with flawless accuracy, reflecting his dedicated training.
On the next day, Chu Yan took the train to the north of White River City. While waiting, Chu Yan scrolled the phone regarding the news regarding the existence of the above the Martial Grandmaster Realm experts.
The northern district was alive with activity, a stark contrast to the abandoned building Chu Yan had anticipated. The buildings here were tall and closely packed, forming a labyrinthine network of alleys and narrow streets. The air buzzed with the chatter of merchants, the cries of children, and the general hum of a thriving community.
Chu Yan stood at the edge of this bustling quarter, taking in the scene with a keen eye. This would be a challenging environment to locate a fugitive.
Chu Yan adjusted the strap of his pack and touched the hilt of his sword, a grounding gesture that calmed his mind. He knew this mission would test his observational skills and his ability to blend in with the crowd. Jin Rong, the escaped prisoner, had fled here with stolen military resources, and it was up to Chu Yan to track him down.
He knew that Jin Rong would be hiding somewhere within this maze of humanity, using the crowds and the buildings to his advantage. Chu Yan's first task was to gather information. He approached a fruit vendor, an elderly woman with a kind face.
"Good morning," Chu Yan greeted her, offering a polite smile. "Have you seen any strangers around here recently? Someone who looks out of place?"
The woman squinted at him, then shook her head. "Lots of new faces here every day, young man. But now that you mention it, there was a man asking a lot of questions about the old warehouse on Elm Street. Looked like trouble to me."
"Thank you."
Chu Yan thanked her and made his way toward Elm Street. The warehouse district was quieter, the hustle and bustle giving way to a more subdued atmosphere. The buildings here were large and old, many of them seemingly abandoned.
He approached the warehouse the woman had mentioned. It was a dilapidated structure, its wooden doors hanging slightly ajar. Chu Yan moved with caution, his footsteps silent on the cobblestones. He slipped inside, the darkness swallowing him as he adjusted to the dim light filtering through broken windows.
As he entered the warehouse, a pair of red eyes appear in the dark.
