"Heheeheee," Haku giggled with pure joy and amusement, tracing his index finger over his lips that still tingled with the sensation of Sakura's rosy, warm cheeks. He licked his lips, remembering what had just happened. "That was sweet."

Hinata raised her eyebrows. She could feel the raw emotions emanating from him and couldn't help but chuckle. "Hold your horses, Haku. You haven't even scratched the surface."

With his iconic smile, he innocently asked, "Surface of what?"

.

His answer caused her to raise her eyebrows again. 'Playing innocent in front of me, who taught you everything,' she thought.

"Oh-ho," a grin started to appear on her lips. "I am talking about scratching the surface between her legs with your…"

"Stop! I get it," he shouted, his face flushing crimson as he clapped his hands over his ears.

.

He glared at her before putting his shame aside, and a cheeky grin started to appear on his face. "Did you see her hazy eyes, her bashful face, red cheeks?"

"That was cute," she giggled.

"You remember how she reacted when I kissed her? Oh god! Her face was adorable. She was…" he said.

"She was asking to be eaten," Hinata completed his sentence.

.

Haku looked at her. "That was exactly my thought. How can you…?"

"Hehe… we are best friends for a reason," she laughed at him and continued towards their home at a very fast pace, invisible to almost everyone.

"What about you?" he asked, remembering she didn't respond when Sakura asked.

Hinata shook her head in amusement. "You will be surprised when the time comes."

"Then I will be waiting," Haku nodded, a sense of excitement building up in his heart.

.

Soon they arrived in front of the clan gates and leisurely walked towards them.

"Welcome home, Lady Hinata," the guards put their hands on their chests and greeted her with prideful smiles and bows.

"Thank you, Kenshin and Kotobuki. You are doing great work, keep it up…" she encouraged the guards with a kind and warm smile.

"Yes, Lady Hinata. We are all in your care," the guards smiled, feeling appreciated by her gesture of kindness and the fact that she remembered their names.

Once Hinata and Haku were gone, Kenshin spoke. "Lady Hinata treats everyone with such kindness, always looking out for our clan," his words came from the bottom of his heart.

"Heir Apparent Hinata handles everything with such grace and intelligence," he continued. "Even my son was given access to the clan library, and all his questions were answered by her."

"At first, I was scared when I heard about it, worrying he might get punished by her or her personal guards, but no such thing happened."

The clan was changing, the air was shifting, and it was clear as day. Although it was subtle, it was happening.

.

As they continued to gossip, Kenshin spoke. "Even Lord Hiashi has changed in the past decade."

"Hmm," the other guard nodded and whispered, "the main family is preparing for something big."

"Where did you hear that? And don't speak so casually, it might get us killed," Kenshin whispered back in concern but was curious to hear what his companion had heard.

"My wife works as one of the maids in the main family, and you know women, they love to gossip. She told me what she heard when we were doing our nightly activities," he giggled.

.

Kenshin nodded and listened with great interest. "Is war on the horizon?" he asked.

The other guard shook his head. "I don't know, man. I am as clueless as you."

As the gossip continued, Kenshin spoke. "Have you heard that a man in the branch family is causing trouble?"

The guard's Byakugan glimmered with anger and dissatisfaction. "I don't know why the main family hasn't punished him yet."

It was clear that the guards were not pleased with their fellow clan member, but there was nothing they could do.

"When everything is going so smoothly, one man has to go off… and because of him, the whole branch family has to suffer," Kenshin said, remembering some past event.

"Let us pray that Lord Hiashi and Lady Hinata make the right decision, or be ready to get your brain fried," he joked with a nervous laugh.

"Hmm…" the guard nodded, and they continued to do their duty and gossip.

*

Hinata and Haku parted ways, each heading to their respective homes, although the distance between them was less than 30 meters.

"Are you trying to scare me again, girl?" Hinata's mother spoke up without even lifting her head.

"Who knows?" Hinata giggled as she approached her mother.

She was washing some vegetables and cutting them with a hum, preparing for dinner.

"How was your day, sweetheart?" Her mother smiled, handing Hinata a knife to help with the vegetables.

"As usual, nothing interesting happened," Hinata truthfully told her mother. It was their daily routine to talk, and Hinata, being a good girl, enthusiastically narrated everything to her mother. After all, she was a mama's girl.

.

"How was your friend?" her mother asked, keenly listening to her daughter.

"Hehe, that was fun, mommy," Hinata's chuckle caused her mother to raise an eyebrow.

She knew that laugh. "Did you bully your friend?"

"Huh…" Hinata looked up at her mother, perplexed, but her smile turned into a pure, innocent one. "No, Mommy, we just played with her," she wisely chose her words, not lying even a bit.

"Ohh…" her mother responded, eyeing her daughter.

"Yup…" Hinata nodded.

.

"How was your day?" Hinata asked, putting a pan on the stove. The oil sizzled as she added spices.

"Me?" Her mother tapped her chin, recalling her day. "After breakfast with your father, we spent time in the backyard watching Hanabi and Arya train.

Later, I sat by the pond, read some scrolls, and sewed clothes for your brother and sisters. I sent a tiffin to your father via a maid and started preparing dinner, as you can see," she summed up her whole day.

"Hmm, so you enjoyed your day," Hinata listened with a smile.

'I have heard the same thing since my childhood, but every day it feels good to listen to her,' she thought.

*Snap*

Her mother snapped her fingers, waking her up from her thoughts. "Why are you smiling like that? If there is something good, you can tell me."

"Oh, there is nothing. I just want to say, I love you, Mother," she randomly expressed what was on her mind.

.

Her mother looked surprised for a moment before a sweet smile graced her lips. "I love you too, sweetheart," she ruffled Hinata's hair and stretched her cheeks as if she were a little doll.

"I think that's enough," Hinata whispered as she was showered in her mother's pats and love.

She looked at Hinata with stern eyes. "No, let me love you," then her eyes filled with warmth as she called her with cute nicknames, tenderly patting her head and doing everything to her heart's content.

.

Hinata just stood there, her eyes darting here and there, a slight hue of pink on her cheeks.

"How cute," her mother whispered.

Seeing her daughter like this, her mother just wanted to tease her, so she did. Hinata looked so adorable, cute, and cuddly.

Her smile was too similar to Hinata's— a little scary and a little possessive.

Hinata's lips curved into a smile. Sensing her mother's wild emotions, her heart thumped vigorously. At this moment, she felt complete.

.

"Mother, the food," Hinata whispered.

Her mother woke up, her eyes looking at the food. "Hehe, I got lost a bit," she cheekily laughed.

'A bit… Mother, you lost yourself for half an hour, but I like it, hehe,' Hinata thought.

Hinata suddenly felt invisible, almost undetectable subtle shockwaves. Looking at her mother's activated Byakugan, she followed her gaze, piercing through every wall and obstacle. She looked at the two sleeping little girls.

"If they were as open as you and expressed their love to me," her mother quietly muttered.

'But they express their feelings and love to me. You don't have to worry about them, mother. I will take care of them,' she thought.

Hinata looked into her mother's eyes before lowering her gaze. "If it makes you happy, you can love me more, but don't be sad," she whispered, genuinely concerned.

Hearing Hinata's concerned voice, her mother's heart melted. "I am not sad, sweetie. I know they love me but don't know how to express it."

Hinata couldn't bear to see her mother sad. Her simple thought process was that if her mother could love her thrice as much, she would give that love to her sisters, so her mother would be happy, she would be happy, and her sisters would be happy, right?

.

"B-but I love you the most," Hinata said.

Seeing Hinata like this, her mother just laughed at her competitive spirit. "I know, sweetheart, you love me the most."

"Hmmm." Hinata hummed, feeling the warmth of her mother's hand on her head.

She then looked at the entrance of the house.

"Why are you looking at the door?" her mother asked.

"I think I have to go," she said, starting to walk towards the door.

"Okay, be careful."

Hinata looked at her mother, smiled, nodded, and walked away.

.

*Knock* *Knock*

.

A knock was heard on the door. Hinata walked with a smooth and steady gait, showing no rush in her steps, her arms relaxed yet gently clasped behind her. The door opened on its own, as if afraid of standing in front of her.

She looked at the man in front of her, who slightly bowed before speaking, "Lady Hinata, the elders have summoned you."

"I see."

Hearing her response, the man disappeared.

"Let's see what the old men are so concerned about." Usually, her assistance was required in clan meetings to discuss matters for clan prosperity.

With no delay, she walked towards the clan's secret meeting hall. Five men stood straight, aligned with the walls and in front of the door, guarding it. Each of them nodded in respect as she passed through them.

.

Before long, Hinata was sitting on a chair, with two clan elders in front of her, seated in their respective seats.

The room, devoid of any windows and filled with flickering candles, made the atmosphere dark and mysterious.

The eldest elder, Kazuya, who was in charge of clan politics and had taught Hinata everything about politics from her childhood, spoke, "How are things coming in the academy?"

A smirk grew on Hinata's lips. "Everything is under control,"

The old man's head ducked down, his eyes shadowed by his hair, his cunning smirk making the gloomy room even gloomier. "Did anyone from the other clan notice?"

.

He was talking about the children of the Inuzuka, Yamanaka, Nara, Aburame, Uchiha, and some other insignificant clans.

Hinata's finger tapped on the table. Chuckling slightly, she said, "My powers are beyond their comprehension."

Hearing her, all three started cackling, their eyes glowing faintly in the dark room.

Putting the academy matter aside, Hinata looked at the other elder. "So, what's the matter, Grandpa?"

The man looked at her with a smile, his eyes filled with pride as he looked at her. After all, she was her daughter's daughter.

He was her real grandfather from her mother's side.

.

Every child of an elder was considered a member of the main family.

But this rule may vary for the clan head if he had twins as firstborns to prevent future conflicts. However, if the child is single, he will be the future head of the clan. For this reason, the clan head maintains a gap of 4 to 5 years for his second child.

As for that twin, in the future at the appropriate age, he will become an elder after the approval of other elders, and his family will be added to the main family.

And if an elder marries someone from the branch house, the same rule also applies, although it happens rarely.

To sum it up, the Hyuga family was complicated.

.

"You see, daughter, the internal war in Kiri is still ongoing. Taking advantage of the situation, some groups of people are causing trouble to goods being supplied from the Fire Country," her grandpa explained the details.

Hinata nodded. "And let me guess, the cavern of goods is from one of our companies."

Aside from being a royal clan, the Hyuga clan has a business empire throughout the lands. Even in Konoha, the owners of various shops and lands didn't know who actually was their big boss.

"You have one day to clean up this mess, or we have to send at least 5 people from the clan. Are you willing to go?" he asked.

"If they go, it might take them more than a week to clean this up, and the results are unknown. But with you," the elder Kazuya said, "the clan members are undergoing harsh training, and it might hinder their growth."

"But with me, the success rate is one hundred percent," she simply stated the outcome.

.

Her grandfather pulled out a scroll and handed it to Hinata, containing all the details regarding the mission.

"So, are you picking someone up or going alone?" Kazuya asked.

"The boy."

"Oh... the boy," he nodded.

Hinata put the scroll under her sleeve and walked towards the exit. But before she left, her grandpa spoke, "Be careful."

Kazuya also nodded along with him.

"I will be," she simply said and left.

*

-Some hours earlier.-

In a warm, cozy bed filled with soft cotton and mushy pillows, anyone who lay their back on it would fall into the temptation of delightful sleep.

Somewhere, some distance away, the atmosphere of love and mischief regained supremacy but here, the boy, Yuki, was drenched in sweat, his heart pounding, his face drained of all color, his fists clenched, and a trail of tears streaming down his cheeks, soaking the pillow.

He found himself in a world filled with flames, where blood was spilled all around. The shadows of the past still haunted him.

In front of his eyes, the edge of a cold sword sliced through the necks of two blurry faces.

Even after years had passed, the faces of his original mother and father had long become blurry, he couldn't even remember how they looked, but even after all this time, the horror still haunted him.

.

Suddenly, the killer of his family looked at him, a cruel smile on his face. He raised his blade and asked, "Do you like what you are seeing?"

Saying this, he again butchered his parents in cold blood. Yuki, with his bloodshot eyes, looked at him, his lips quivering. Like a broken record, he murmured, "This is not real, this is not real."

"Oh, you think so," the killer taunted.

.

As Yuki blinked, the scene shifted. A figure lay on the ground, her dark blue hair dyed red by a pool of blood beneath her, her white eyes helplessly looking at him, filled with warmth and love.

Even on the brink of death, she showed concern not for herself but for him. With a soft, dying voice, she uttered, "Run."

Yuki's heart stopped beating, his breath became haggard as he looked at the person who took care of him, raised him, and taught him everything—whom he called his mother.

His eyes filled with madness as he looked at the killer. "Don't you dare!!"

The killer just smiled at him and plunged the sharp edge into Hinata's frail heart.

.

For a moment, everything turned black. Nothing made sense.

Then, rage consumed him like wildfire, his blood boiling with a fervor that threatened to overwhelm his very sanity. Every muscle in his body tensed, his fist clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white, his eyes dark and seething, reflecting the dead body of his mother.

The vengeance in his eyes infuriated his whole being, his eyes so cold they could freeze the blood of his enemies. "I… Will… Kill… You," his yell echoed.

He was running as hard as he could, but the distance between them never seemed to decrease. It only increased, and at one point, everything shattered like a mirror.

.

"Huff… huff…" His breath started to calm down, his face regaining color.

He stared at the ceiling of his room. As he moved, the pair of little bells made a familiar sound, which wasn't present in his nightmare. It ensured that he was back in reality.

He wiped his soaked cheeks, his eyes changing the pattern underneath his white eyes.

His hands raised in front of him, clenching them tightly, he whispered, "I won't let anything happen to her." He was emotionally devastated, his head still spinning.

This was not the first time he had nightmares, but it was the first time he saw her being killed.

But every time this happened, his mother was always with him, protecting him like a guardian angel.

And as if she was listening to his prayers, he heard knocks on the door.

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

A knock on the door broke through his thoughts. The familiar sequence of knocks brought a wave of relief.

He knew who it was.

As he opened the door, a hand tenderly ruffled his hair. As he looked up, he met with a warm smile that he was so fond of.

As his eyes met hers, he knew he didn't have to tell anything; she had seen through him.

He saw her kneeling in front of him to match his eye level. Then she slowly spread her arms, and with a warm tone, she said, "Come here."

Instinctively, he jumped into her warm embrace, feeling soft pats on his back. He tightly hugged her, this was enough to shatter his tough facade.

Sensing the chaotic emotions and feeling her shoulder wet, she gently said, "Everything is okay."

He just stayed there without moving his body, but the tenseness of his body was gone.

She rubbed his back in slow, reassuring circles. She didn't know why, but the boy was clingier than usual, so she asked, "What's the matter, Yuki? Was something different this time?"

The boy nodded but didn't answer. Seeing this, she seemed concerned. Putting her hand on his shoulder, she gently parted with him. "Tell me," she asked.

More tears rolled down his cheeks. "H-He killed you in front of my eyes, and I was helpless," he said between his sobs.

She softly cupped his face in her hands, wiping away the tears with her thumbs. "It's okay, sweetheart, nobody can kill me," she reassured him.

.

Her voice, as if imbued with magic, calmed his whole being. He nodded if her mother said nobody could kill her, then it was true in his eyes.

Wiping away all his tears, she stood up. "You haven't gone outside of the clan, so, to cheer you up, we are going outside," her eyes glimmered with excitement, making the boy as excited as her.

"Really?" he asked. Yuki hadn't been given permission to walk outside the clan; he hadn't seen the outside world.

Hinata extended her hand towards him, and Yuki tightly grabbed her hand.

Soon, a thought came to his mind, 'Mother's hand is so warm and comforting.'

.

Hinata, with her side-eye, looked down on the boy, a smile gracing her lips.

*

The evening sun cascaded down its orange-reddish hue over the Leaf Village, the calm and cool breeze fluctuating their hair.

As soon as Hinata, with her little boy, stepped outside the clan and walked towards the marketplace, people started to notice them.

It was very unusual for her to go outside the clan; she was only seen with her mother or father, or so people thought.

They could only see her when she allowed it, and today was such a case.

As a royal clan, they were held in very high regard and respected to the point where common folks and no-name shinobis wouldn't dare to approach them carelessly.

.

As they passed through the streets, gossip occurred amidst the people.

One young-looking boy said to an older man, "Should we approach them? If they notice us, maybe we could get some work and our lives will be set."

The older man just sighed in disappointment at the naivety of his son. "They wouldn't bat an eye at people like us. For them, our value is even less than a pig. If we die, nobody would care."

.

The boy nodded in understanding, grasping the underlying meaning of his father's words.

These kinds of talks were common among people. Some wanted a favor, some wanted to harm them, and many more other things. But as the man said, both Hinata and Yuki didn't even register their banter in their heads.

"Let's go there," Yuki excitedly pulled her towards a shop.

As they approached the first stall, the elderly shopkeeper greeted them with a warm smile. "Good evening, heir of the Hyuga clan and I guess a member of the main family. What can I give you?" he politely asked.

"Please, two cups of ice cream," Hinata politely said, maintaining her graceful nature. After all, she had to maintain her image. She couldn't show everyone her face, or they would just piss off their pants, and she certainly didn't want that kind of mess.

.

After buying the ice cream, they strolled through the market. Yuki's heart felt giddy; he was spending time with her, and the more, the merrier.

"Where are we going?" he asked, still holding her hand as if it was glued.

Hinata looked down at him, excitement filling her eyes. With a smile, she replied, "On a mission."

.

Yuki too became as excited as her, but there was another thing on his mind. "What about our spar?"

It was his daily routine. After learning jutsus and fighting skills, he would implement all his skills in a 10 to 15-minute spar with her.

And as for the results, weren't they obvious? He got humbled so he wouldn't get high on his increasing powers.

It wasn't only limited to Yuki; Arya, Hanabi, Haku, Kimimaro, and Neji—all of them were in the same boat, pursuing an unachievable goal.

.

"We will be doing that soon," she simply said and walked ahead.

Yuki was happily chatting with her when suddenly his eyes squinted. He found that he was no longer in the village; all around him were tall trees and lush green grass.

"Where are we?" Yuki asked curiously.

Hinata let go of his hand and walked ahead, turning towards him with a calm expression. "In the forest outside of Konoha," she replied.

He nodded and didn't ask any further. He had experienced this sensation before; it was too quick to even notice.

.

Hinata's hand went behind her back, and her right hand raised in front of her, her fingers curling towards her, and with this gesture, she commanded, "Come… show me what you got, boy."

Yuki readied himself, and a mini scroll fell from his sleeve. With a crushing motion of his fist, a katana made of chakra metal appeared in his hand.

Underneath his white pupil, the Sharingan spun with blazing red, changing his perspective of things dramatically.

A deep breath escaped his nose as he diagonally raised his sword to his shoulder.

His chakra skillfully traced into the blade; the black blade turned reddish, and in an instant, it was engulfed in the fury of flames.

His left hand raised parallel to his chest, two fingers pointing upwards, and the ground beneath him cracked as he vanished.

.

In a snap, the blazing sword swung in a semicircle, creating a spectacular sight.

The sharp and sizzling edge of the blade was a hair's distance away from cutting Hinata's neck, but at a speed, Yuki couldn't fathom, she ducked her head down. Her fingers glowed with dark blueish chakra.

The faintly chara-coated finger poked the still-moving sword's flattened edge. With a simple motion, she cut through his ninjutsu, and her own chakra seeped into the blade, overpowering and dispelling his chakra.

Then, the chakra turned into lightning, sending currents and blasting the blade away from his hand.

.

Hinata's right hand raised, pulling it slightly back, she thrust her faintly flowing palm and hit in the middle of the chest of the still mid-air boy.

Chakra exploded from the back of Yuki, and before he could proceed even with his Sharingan, he hit the ground with a brutal thud, hitting again and again before finally stopping after crashing into the trunk of a thick tree.

*Cough*

He coughed out blood.

The whole sequence happened in no time. If a person below Jonin level would see, they would only see Yuki disappear, a red flash, and the boy blasting far away like a rocket.

.

He wiped the trail of blood from his lips, his eyes turning back to normal. She basically knocked the Sharingan out of him.

The blade was suspiciously lying beside him. Picking it up, he tried to pour his fire chakra into it, but his expression changed. He looked up and said, "You disrupted my chakra."

She hit him so precisely that even with such a brutal attack, there was no internal damage. Hearing him, her lips arched upwards. "What else did you expect?"

"No less than from you," he commented and disappeared from there just like before, but this time only using his physical strength.

It would take some time to stabilize his chakra in his coils, and she didn't even hit him for damage purposes.

He was used to such attacks for years.

.

Just like Yuki, a mini scroll fell from Hinata's sleeve, and with a cruising fist, her famed weapon was in her hands.

With a clicking sound, all three parts of it joined together with a spearhead on the top of it. This weapon could turn into a bow, a spear, a Naginata, a staff, and a short sword using one-third of the staff and spearhead.

*Clank*

At the collision of two metals, visible sparks erupted, and before he could even budge her weapon, a swift kick graced his stomach, sending him flying back.

Hinata was contented by the force behind his strike. Looking at his flying figure, she thought, 'It's not like he is weak, but… his opponent is me. I mean me, he's like a speck of dust floating in the vast cosmos.'

.

Yuki stabilized himself from the momentum by stabbing his sword into the ground. 'I have to try even harder,' he thought and rushed towards her again. In the midway, his chakra was stabilized, maybe by her kick.

His Sharingan flashed intensely, and his speed increased many folds, but the result was the same: his strikes, stabs, and slashes were skillfully deflected.

His eyes were running on overdrive, with each moment, he was improving.

*Twack*

Another kick sent him flying. Taking a deep breath, he stabbed his katana into the ground. 'It's time for a long-range ninjutsu battle,' he thought.

He disappeared from there, just a few meters away from her he jumped high into the air, with a clasping of his hands, he brought both index fingers near his mouth, and with a deep breath, he released his jutsu, 'Fireball!'

*Swish*

A massive ball of fire, threatening to burn everything, bigger and wider than 40 meters, cast a red shadow on the ground, hurtling towards Hinata.

"Nice," she genuinely, was impressed by the sheer power and heat behind it.

In response, she raised her weapon, the tip facing the incoming fireball. The tip glowed with her chakra.

Even without her Byakugan activated, she had such grasp, proficiency, understanding, and insight of chakra. She just poked her spear, sending invisible chakra needles and hitting every chakra point that had made the jutsu. True to her nature, she brutally crushed the incoming fireball.

and It fizzled away in the air like it never existed.

.

As soon as the giant fireball vanished, a flurry of sharp kunai poured down from the sky like rain. Yuki in the sky had disappeared. Seeing the incoming projectiles, a smile appeared on her face; it was truly a fascinating move.

A stream of chakra seeped into her weapon as she gently thumped it on the ground, causing ripples to spread across the earth.

Her raw chakra imbued the ground as far as one could imagine, and then it turned into earth chakra.

With just a thought, a curved wall erupted from the ground, protecting her from the kunai.

As her focus remained on the wall before her, the ground beneath her shattered, and Yuki suddenly appeared, his fist aimed upward to hit her chin.

.

"Do you really think you could sneak up on me?" she questioned as Yuki's fist was firmly gripped by her palm, suspending him in mid-air.

*cough*

She slammed her knee into his abdomen, then landed a fist on his cheek, followed by another powerful knee in his belly, a punch to his left cheek, and with a thrust of her palm, she sent him flying, hitting a boulder behind him.

Yuki's body went limp, his head hanging low as if broken.

*step* *step*

She calmly walked towards him, her weapon disappearing from her hand.

She squatted down, her left hand on her knee, her right hand extended towards Yuki. With her index finger, she raised his chin, causing him to look into her eyes.

She traced her thumb over his lips, wiping the blood away. "Are you hurt, Yuki?" she asked, her eyes starting to fill with concern.

.

"Hmm," Yuki just hummed. He couldn't lie to her; the concern on her face warmed his heart. She was worried for him, and it filled him with an unnamed sweetness.

During the training, there was no mercy. However, as soon as the training ended, something in her mind snapped, as if a switch had been flipped. She became overly concerned and worried, sometimes slapping him while crying to make her anxious. Despite all of this, he liked it; it was his medicine.

.

Talking about medicine, she pulled out a healing potion and started to apply it to his wounds. "You will be fine by the next day," she said with a warm expression, still feeling concerned.

With a thin bandage in her hand, she wrapped it around his bangs that hung on both sides of his temples and sweetly ruffled his hair.

"How does it look?" she asked him, showing his reflection through a kunai.

"It makes me look cool," he blurted out.

.

"Hehe," she just laughed, turning her back to him. With a simple gesture, he hopped on her back, his hands and legs wrapping around her neck and belly.

She stood up and slowly walked amidst the towering trees. As she walked, she hummed a beautiful melody, making whoever listened lost in tranquility.

"Mother, why are we climbing a mountain?" Yuki asked, tightly clinging to her back like a monkey.

"I want to do something," she told him.

"What is it?" he excitedly asked, but his question was not answered. He had to wait to find out.

.

The sun on the horizon was halfway sunk, the night was approaching, and the crescent moon hung above their heads as they stood on a high cliff looking down on the endless valley of forest.

"How high are we?" he asked with bewilderment.

"Very high," she replied.

.

"What are we going to do?" he tilted his head and looked at her cheeks.

"Jump."

"What do you mean by jump?" he was confused; jumping from this high meant death.

"This," she giggled and jumped.

*swish*

"AAAAAHHHHH," he yelled in surprise, clinging to her neck as tightly as he could. His heart beat furiously as the ground came nearer and nearer every second, with no sign of slowing down.

"Hahahah," Hinata laughed in triumph, her hair flowing backward as the winds hit her face. "I wanted to do this for a long time," she exclaimed.

.

Their speed increased by 9.8 meters per second. The ground and the trees became larger and larger. Yuki's yelling faded into the background amidst her thrilling laughter.

"Mother, we are going to hit the ground," Yuki screamed in her ear, urging her to do something.

"I know, son."

Yuki closed his eyes as they neared the trees, "Hehe," Hinata laughed as her right eye pulsed with chakra, the air beneath them rippling like water.

*thud*

"Splash"

Yuki's eyes snapped open as water rose high in the skies and fell back, creating large waves. His eyes widened as he looked around. Water surrounded him as far as he could see.

"Where are we?" he asked, still scanning his surroundings, bewildered by the sheer quantity of water. This was his first time experiencing such a sight.

"In the middle of the ocean," she simply replied.

"That was scary and thrilling," Yuki commented, his heart starting to calm down as he lay on her back.

"Do you like it?" she asked.

"Yes," he nodded.

"I'm glad," she softly said.

The ocean waves gently swayed, the salty, cool breeze hitting their senses, the moon's reflection dancing along with the waves.

"This is so beautiful," she whispered, admiring the sight.

"Huh, what is that, Mother?" Yuki pointed to the side where the water was moving up and down.

*Splash.*

A huge jaw opened beneath them and closed its mouth as if it had swallowed what was above the surface.

Yuki looked at the spot where they had been standing moments ago. A huge sea beast glared at them, its eyes filled with anger at missing its prey. The size of its single tooth was bigger than a human body.

"Oh crap," he muttered, looking at the beast and then at his mother, who had stuck out her tongue as if to mock the creature.

"Raaaawwwwwweerrer!" the beast shrieked and launched at such speed as if it wanted to gulp them down in one go.

.

"Hold on tightly," she laughed and started running. Her speed was just enough to avoid being caught by the sea creature but not fast enough to outrun it.

Hehehe," her laughter echoed in the vast ocean as she ran forward.

Splash.

"Hahaha."

Splash.

"Hahaha."

Her mocking and taunting continued until the beast ran out of stamina and fell behind.

.

"Finally," Yuki's chin rested on her shoulder as the madness ended, his heart starting to calm down again.

*Thud.*

Hinata gently landed on a floating piece of wood, maybe a broken piece of a small boat.

Yuki got down on the board and sat at the edge, his feet dangling in the water.

Hinata let her back hit the board, her hands spread wide as she gazed at the countless stars in the sky.

.

Her eyes were empty, her mind devoid of any thoughts, in a state of complete calmness, distinct from everything.

From the side, Yuki eyed her. This look on her face, he didn't like it. The silence was killing him.

"Is anything bothering you, Mother? I can help you," he asked, a little shyness in his voice.

The white pupil in her eye moved and looked at him, her playfulness returning. "Awww, how cute… how can you help me?" she teasingly asked him.

"I don't know, you can tell me," he said.

She giggled at his honesty. "Hehe, your being here is enough help to me."

.

A look of confusion appeared on Yuki's face.

"I don't understand,"

Hinata just smiled but didn't answer.

Their chatting went on, her telling him some interesting stories and engaging in some random banter.

"Look, Mother, we are finally here," he pointed out towards the island.

.

The piece of wood floated freely in the water, eventually reaching the shore.

Yuki jumped on the ground, looking all around, but suddenly, his eyes sharpened as he heard rustling in the bushes.

Yuki instantly turned around and positioned himself in front of Hinata, who was still lying on the broken wood. His intentions were clear: to protect her and their identities from the newcomers.

.

It would be disastrous if someone found out that the heir of the Hyuga clan was here.

Hinata's heart thumped with sweetness as she looked into his eyes.

She raised both of her hands; one trailed down her face as countless silk-like chakra threads altered her appearance, while the other trailed down Yuki's face, adjusting his already present mask to a somewhat feminine one.

"Hehe," she giggled in amusement as she looked at the little girl in front of her.

.

"Why are you laughing, Mother?" he asked, confusion evident as he wasn't bothered by her altered face.

But before she could answer, three pairs of feet landed some distance away from them.

One woman and two men, all wearing headbands of the Mist Village. As they looked at the back of a child and a prone figure, their eyes glimmered with malice.

One of them spoke up, "Look… what we have here."

"Hehe, a child and a woman. Should we play with them, kill them, or sell them to the black market or to some nobles?" the man licked his lips and started approaching them.

.

The woman in the group didn't even bat an eye at her teammates. In times of war, this was normal: looting, killing, selling people, satisfying their needs.

The one who held power could do anything to the weak and helpless.

"Where did they come from?" one of them asked.

"Maybe some surviving members of kekkei genkai users," the woman thought out loud.

"Let's kill them," the man said. The Mist Village was a group of assassins.

But the other man who was approaching had other plans. "Let me at least see their faces. If they are beautiful, maybe I can… hehe," he licked his tongue.

.

Yuki's hand trembled, not in fear but in sheer rage. He didn't like any of them. The way they talked about his mother made his blood boil. His face was absolutely livid.

He looked into her eyes, still protecting her from anyone.

"Hehe, let me see," the man extended his hand to grab the child's shoulder.

.

A mini scroll fell from Yuki's sleeves, and before anyone could react, an arc of blazing red erupted.

*Thud*

With a spray of blood, the forearm of the approaching man hit the ground, followed by his other arm, his upper torso, and finally his lower body, with guts splattered pathetically around him.

*Drip* *drip*

As Yuki turned around, blood dripping down his chin onto his white robes, he looked like a monster that had emerged from the depths of hell, ready to slaughter anyone.

'Hehe, that's my boy, ready to kill anyone for his mama,' she giggled, as the boy looked so majestic in her eyes.

.

The remaining two ninjas were too stunned to speak; their minds went blank for a second, their companion was brutally butchered.

"I think she pissed her pants," Hinata's voice broke the silence, her face contorting in disgust as she looked at the woman.

Yuki's glare made the woman take a few steps backward. She disgusted his mother. How could he remain sane? She had to perish.

.

His right hand moved, the sword raised diagonally over his shoulder, a green layer of wind chakra cutting the air around it.

"No, you won't!" the remaining man cried out, his hand moving at a snail's pace as he started to perform hand seals, morphing the water in the atmosphere into a solid object.

"Water Release: Evil Windmill Water Shuriken!" he yelled at the top of his lungs, throwing the large shuriken at them.

"Tch," Hinata cringed at his yelling and chakra usage, feeling nauseated. "How primitive."

Boom.

An explosion sent water splattering around, creating a cloud of dust.

"I think we got them!" the woman yelled happily.

Swish.

The woman's eyes widened as a green arc cut through the explosion, appearing in front of her and cutting her in half, even the trees behind were not spared.

Yuki showed no hesitation. Man or woman, nothing mattered when it came to his mother. His morals were clear: you disrespect my mother, you cease to exist.

.

The remaining man felt his world crumble. He had messed with the wrong people; his only option was to flee and inform his village.

From the cloud of dust, a pair of eyes looked at him. He tried to move his legs, but it felt as if something invisible had grabbed them.

"What is this?" His heart filled with dread.

With all his might, he pulled his legs and this time he moved. Suspicious, wasn't it?

He ran as fast as he could, muttering, "I usually don't believe in God, but this time I prayed with my whole heart."

"Did you…" His heart skipped a beat as someone whispered in his ear.

The man's vision shifted, but he was still standing in the same place.

"Your faith is wavering because your prayers didn't reach us," Hinata's chilling voice sent shivers down his spine.

.

A senbon needle flickered in her fingers and impaled his neck, rendering him paralyzed. His body hit the sandy surface.

Yuki walked towards her, his temper returning to normal. Hinata placed a soft cotton cloth on his face, wiping away the blood.

"You didn't kill him," he asked, a bit disappointed.

A smile started to creep onto Hinata's face. "Let the little bugs crawl inside him and eat him alive. Let him feel the agony," she giggled.

"After all, no one has the right to live after disrespecting me, isn't that right?" she asked.

.

"Yes, Mother," Yuki nodded without hesitation.

Let's go," she held his hand and walked towards their destination.

But before they left, she cast a powerful genjutsu so no one could find their dead bodies.

'It's my duty to clean up the mess made by my family,' she happily nodded to herself.

.

As they walked further inside the island, the mist thickened, enveloping everything in white.

This island was one of many connected to the main village. Many merchants passed through this route to reach the Mist Village.

*

Soon enough, Hinata stood on a hilltop, looking down on a group of people hiding in a little valley.

"Should we jump in?" Yuki asked, able to see everything his mother did despite the thick mist.

With her Byakugan, she pierced through every obstacle, analyzing the number of troops and the stolen goods, which included food, medicine, and weapons.

"Oh, there's a Jonin-level ninja amongst them," she raised her eyebrows in intrigue. First, the chakra in his body was above average, and second, the mist around them had his chakra mixed; he was using a famous jutsu.

"How should we proceed?" Yuki asked, thousands of strategies blooming in his head.

"A bug is a bug, no matter how small or big," she simply stated, not even considering the presence of a jonin.

.

*Clap*

She clasped her hands, excitement flaring in her eyes, a wicked grin enlarging on her lips.

Yuki's forehead started to bead with sweat, the leaves on trees, which were pointing upwards, turned their tips to the ground under the pressure. The grass was flattened.

Every person in that group felt the malevolent chakra from miles away, despite not being a sensor ninja.

A bit of her chakra was released.

.

Her right eye pulsed with chakra as her left hand was raised, fingers pointing towards the ground. Countless chakra strings extruded from her fingers. As they descended, the air rippled beneath them, and they disappeared.

In the sky, a ripple appeared above the camp. The chakra strings shot out like venomous snakes. Each chakra string went directly inside their chakra coils and then traveled through their bodies.

"Hehe," she giggled as everything was set in place.

.

Then it happened. A man's brain exploded as the first gate was forcefully opened.

*Boom*

*Boom*

*Boom*

Explosions continued as brains exploded left and right. Some survived, but the next moment their skulls burst open as the second gate was opened, right beside the first one.

Now only the jonin was standing. His body wasn't in his control; his chakra was overflowing. But the next moment, his whole body exploded as all of his gates were opened.

"Oops! I went overboard," she exclaimed.

.

This was one of her godly creations. Once someone got attached to her chakra strings, neither their body nor their chakra was under their control. And this was only the tip of the iceberg. Simply put, if you got caught, you would die no matter who you were.

Yuki's mind was flooded with too much information after gaining a new understanding of how chakra works on a higher level.

He looked up at his mother with a mix of awe and apprehension.

'Mother is scary,' he looked up to her.

"Am I scary?" she leaned forward, her eyes piercing into his.

"Nuh-uh," he declined, shaking his head cutely from side to side.

"Not for me, but for our enemies."

She pinched his cheeks with a smile. "That's my boy."

Yuki's heart felt giddy from such affection; he craved more. After all, what does a child want more than a mother's love?

.

"Let's go," she said, starting to walk towards their home, Yuki's hand clutching her index finger.

As they walked, "What if someone finds out? What about the goods?" he asked, some clarity returning to Yuki after the great adrenaline rush.

"Don't worry about that, Yuki. Remember, it's not about the goods. It's about sending a message," she explained, emphasizing the importance of maintaining one's image and power. Once it's lost, it never comes back.

.

"I understand," he nodded.

"I'm glad," she smiled. It was her duty to properly educate him, and she was doing a phenomenal job.

As they walked, stars shined more vigorously as the night reached its peak.

*Growl*

Suddenly, someone's stomach growled.

Yuki cutely tugged at her sleeves, "I am hungry, Mother," he muttered.

She looked down; he was hungry, and this request must be fulfilled. "Wait a second, let me find something for you," she said.

She then instructed him to collect some dry wood to ignite the fire.

"Yes, Mama," he quickly disappeared.

.

"Huh," her expression turned into a frown when she found no animals on the island.

Suddenly, there was a flux in her chakra as her emotions went into a frenzy, she panicked.

"He must be hungry, he must be hungry, I have to find something," she muttered to herself, scanning the whole island more intensely.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up, a smile spreading across her lips. She had found something. She disappeared and reappeared elsewhere. "

I must say, I fell for my own trick for a second," she admired her own creation and looked at the sack of protein-filled creatures.

.

Its eyes filled with dread as it looked at the crooked smile of its predator.

"You must feel proud for being served to my son and cooked by me, hehe," she giggled as she approached the lying creature.

A scroll was thrown on the ground. It rolled, opened, and a cooking table appeared with all the ingredients.

A chakra blade appeared in her hand, and with a quick motion, the creature was cut into many pieces.

"I may be evil, but I am not a monster who lets my son starve," she peeled its skin, cut the muscles, soaked them in its own blood, and neatly placed them on the table. She had a warm smile on her face; she was cooking for her son, and she was happy.

.

Yuki, on the other hand, had collected the woods and set them on fire, waiting for her to appear. Finally, she showed up.

*Sizzle*

The meat sizzled in the boiling water as the spices were sprinkled over it. Bubbles burst in the pot as the fire cooked the food, creating a delicious scent that spread through the atmosphere.

Soon, one bowl was in Yuki's hand and one in Hinata's.

Yuki blew air through his mouth onto the hot soup and took a sip. His eyes lit up as the phenomenal taste graced his taste buds.

"Amazing," he gulped down the whole thing in one go.

.

"Calm down, the food isn't going anywhere," she smiled at him. Her heart was content with happiness as the food she made was liked by him, and he looked cute gulping it down.

"Mother cooks so well. I wonder what kind of animal this is," he said as he gulped down another bowl.

.

"Do you like it?" she asked, chewing her own food.

"Yes, I love it."

"Want me to make something like it again?" she asked, willing to make it if he wanted.

"Yes!" he shouted without any hesitation.

"What kind of animal was that?" he finally asked, the taste so good that he ignored it.

'I don't want to answer that,' she thought, but she gave a hint, "a very special animal."

.

"Ohh… maybe I can go on the hunt next time with you," he innocently asked. He too wanted to help his mother in hunting.

"Hehe, maybe. Let's go home; it's getting late, and we are quite far," she giggled, diverting his attention from the food to home.

And with that, their adventure came to a close as the son walked, holding his mother's finger, through the unknown lands to their home.
